The Corona Civic Light Opera Association was founded in 2003. After two productions , the Co-founder Michael Stern passed away, and left the group with an uncertain future. Through the dedication efforts of a small group of people, who are now our board of directors, we have reestablished and are a rising star.
June 2006, we produced "Godspell", a 1970 play by John-Michael Telbelak, and Directed by Robb Judkins. This was produced in the Corona City Park, this was free entertainment to help bring us back after being dark for nearly 3 years.
There were donations collected for the Circle of Hope Family Shelter.
December 2006, our Christmas production of "Toy Camp", by Paul Collette and Gary Fritzen, and Directed by Guy Jones. We proudly supported the Circle of Hope Family Shelter in Corona with cash donations and a toy drive to assist homeless families with children.
March 2007, we produced "Arsenic and Old Lace", a 1939 play by Joseph Kesselring, and Directed by Gregory S. Perez. Here we donated to a school of our Ticket Buyer's choice for their Arts program. They filled out a form indicating which school and which program, Band, Choir, Drama, or Color Guard, that they wanted the donated proceeds to go. We received rave revues for the production and set design.
August 2007, we produced "Cinderella" by Rodgers & Hammerstein, Directed by Ana Gedney-Bomgaars. We supported "American Cancer Society's Relay for Life". Again we received rave revues for the production and set design.
December 2007, our Christmas production was an authorized adaptation of "Toy Camp" originally by by Paul Collette and Gary Fritzen and rewritten by J. Curtis titled "Santa's Toy Camp." We again supported the local schools.
